I've seen construction submittal workflows stall over the same avoidable issues again and again, from the wrong CSI section number to a missing contractor stamp to a scanned PDF with no searchable text.

Any one of those can trigger the same costly reset. Return without review. Resubmit cycle. Schedule impact downstream.

On high-volume projects, submittal print formatting failures and administrative errors that should have been caught before the package left the contractor's office are often the primary source of delays rather than technical design problems.

The standards exist. CSI MasterFormat rules, AIA A201 requirements, and, on some MEP-heavy projects, ASHRAE, all lay out the rules in detail. What most teams lack is a way to enforce those rules consistently across every package at volume.

TxDOT sheet standards include ARCH C (18×24) and ARCH D (24×36), along with minimum font sizes and dedicated reviewer stamp space. Caltech PDF rules require PDFs to be produced from native programs of origin rather than scanned and require file naming to conform to AIA page naming standards with no blank spaces.

A formatting failure at any single handoff point can reset every downstream step in the review chain.
